Saudi Arabia Announces Major Change in Citizenship Laws

Riyadh – In a major change to its citizenship laws, Saudi Arabia has announced that it will allow children born to a foreign father and Saudi mother can apply for citizenship. 

According to a news source, children of Saudi women married to foreigners can apply for citizenship after 18 years old. The article added that there are a number of requirements. Such as fluency in Arabic, permanent residency status in the Kingdom at the legal age, excellent moral character, and the absence of any criminal convictions or lengthy jail sentences for immoral acts.
